Going down the stairs in 2011, Sue slipped and fell. An X-ray confirmed that she had fractured and a week later she learned that she had broken her arm in two places and the bone was in 3 pieces!
Following the operation on her arm and shoulder, Sue had a DXA scan which revealed low T scores and confirmed osteoporosis. The Bone Health Team (or Fracture Liaison Service in other areas) recommended to Sue and her GP that she take Alendronic Acid, Calcium and Vitamin D.
Sue says that the Bone Health Team was supportive and offered good advice. Since then, they and also the National Osteoporosis Society have provided continuing advice to both Sue and her mother who also suffers from osteoporosis.
